Does it scare you? Tell me.
Does it elicit the most vulnerable, tender part of your soul? Share it.
Does it seemingly transcend all that you are? Reveal it.
Does it speak to the depths of your experience? Release it.
Does it cause an indelible pain in you to erupt in a cataclysmic passion? Engender it.
Does the very thought of it shed tears within your essence? Own it.
Does it cause you to feel naked, exposed, broken? Envelop yourself in it by breathing it out.
Does it awaken the pangs of rejection? Embrace it.
This is you. This is your story. This is your greatest gift.
Do not conceal it, for that will cause a horror of evasion even the gods cannot comprehend.
Do not fight against it, as that will deny the character that defines you.
Do not shun it, for that will banish the epoch of imagination to be stifled in a haunted nothingness.
Instead, share it with those you love. Share it with those you don’t love. And share it with me.
You have no idea of the power that resides within you. Of the ability you
have to foster change, growth, and compassion in the weavings of time.
You know this power is there, because is terrifies you. It freezes your very movements, as if buried alive in a prison of your own making.
Gasping for air, as if sliding down a cavernous glacier in revolting perpetuity.
And seemingly lost to the hiddenness inherent in a fundamentally dishonest existence.
Allow yourself to feel lost. Embrace uncertainty, for in that is where the dreams of your heart will reveal themselves.
Which dreams will rise?
Will the echoes of what you long for transpire, or find themselves buried in the reverberations of your pain?
Loving yourself is akin to a beauteous countenance.
You will not always be heard. You will not always be listened to. Sometimes, you’ll be laughed at, attacked, shunned. But the anger and apathy of others are not your responsibility. Ever.
You have gifts. So share them. To not do so is selfish and foolhardy.
Declare your brokenness. It just might save your life.
And touch the life of another who needs you.
